Peer Review Process

The Journal of Marine Sciences and Technology for Sustainable Development (JMSTSD) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and relevance of published research.

 Review Workflow

  1. Initial Screening All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team for scope, originality, and basic formatting. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s criteria may be rejected without external review.

  2. Double-Blind Review Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process to ensure impartiality.

  3. Reviewer Evaluation Reviewers assess the manuscript based on scientific merit, clarity, methodology, relevance, and ethical standards. They provide constructive feedback and recommend one of the following:

    • Accept

    • Minor Revision

    • Major Revision

    • Reject

  4. Editorial Decision The editor considers reviewer comments and makes a final decision. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the same or new reviewers.

  5. Final Acceptance and Publication Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and formatting before publication. Authors receive proofs for final approval.

Review Timeline

  • Average time from submission to first decision: 4–6 weeks

  • Average time from acceptance to publication: 2–4 weeks

Ethical Standards

JMSTSD adheres to the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and declare any conflicts of interest.
